Cops and the Secret Service are investigating an incident in Frederick involving an evident attempt to daunt voters with the shipment of a threatening letter. The Secret Service is involved because the letter particularly threatened Democratic governmental nominee Joe Biden and vice governmental nominee Sen. Kamala Harris. Like people in lots of neighborhoods, residents in Frederick reveal their political preferences through backyard indications.

Destruction from COVID-19 shutdowns were quick and remarkable here at Habitat for Humankind of Frederick County this past March. One Monday we had a staff conference to talk about various preventative measures we might take during the spread of the infection, but then things moved so rapidly that by the end of that week we were nearly completely shut down.
Additionally, our house build and house repair work programs closed to protect volunteers and customers, the bulk of whom are seniors. Without the ReStore profits, and without programs in operation, we were required into monetary crisis almost over night and our management was forced to furlough most of our personnel.
